National Testing Agency conducts UGC NET exam (UGC NET December 2025) twice every year. The first session is in June and the second in December. The examination is going to start from 31st December. Which will end on 7 January 2026. Exams will be conducted in computer based test mode in different cities of the country. A big update has come out regarding the city information slip. Candidates should know about this.

Looking at the trends of last years, it is being estimated that the city information slip will be released 10 days in advance. Exam city slip may be available on 21st December. It will contain the names of the cities where the exam centers are going to be allotted. Apart from this, there will be name, roll number and information of the candidate. So that the candidates can plan their journey in advance. Can make ticket booking and accommodation arrangements in advance.

4. After this the page of city information slip will open.

Exam will be held in two shifts

The examination of 85 subjects will be conducted in two shifts between December 31 and January 7. The first shift will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The second shift will run from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. No break will be given to the candidates between the two papers. On the basis of the score obtained, there will be selection for Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission in PhD programs in different colleges.
