Delhi government masterplan reduce road accidents: To reduce the continuously increasing road accidents in Delhi, monitoring will be increased through Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI based cameras. Delhi government has made preparations to reduce road accidents by 50 percent by 2030. In view of this, a meeting was taken in Delhi Secretariat. In the meeting, under the Road Safety Work Plan, a road map was prepared keeping the target of reducing road accidents by 50 percent. Let us tell you that Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh took this meeting, in which all the administrative officers were present.
Road safety plan for 2030
Creating safe school zones in the capital and removing black spots in all the states was the main agenda of this meeting. The meeting of the State Road Safety Council in Delhi Secretariat is also being considered as a review meeting for road safety. In the meeting, special emphasis was laid on sensitive issues like safety of pedestrians, cyclists and school children on the roads. Council members stressed on the safety of non-motorized vehicles like cycles and rickshaws. Besides, emphasis was also laid on developing school zones in 100 schools of Delhi in the first phase. Road Safety Club will be formed in all the schools of Delhi Education Directorate and it will be actively implemented.
AI will increase surveillance on roads
The streets of the capital are being monitored with Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI based cameras, but the number of these cameras will be increased in the coming time. Currently the number of these cameras is 47, but in the coming time their number will be increased to 100. Also, special risk places will be identified in collaboration with Delhi Traffic Police and IIT Delhi for 24*7 monitoring. Apart from this, improvement work is also going on at 18 identified black spots. The security situation at places like Delhi Gate and ISBT Kashmiri Gate is currently being monitored.

The Road Safety Council also reviewed the assistance scheme for victims injured in road accidents. Cashless Treatment Scheme for road accident victims, Hit and Run Scheme for serious injury cases and Rah-Veer Scheme. During this, Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the government will have special focus on identifying black spots and fixing them, developing safe school zones and technology-based monitoring system.
