Aryan Khan entered the world of filmmaking this year with his bold and unconventional web series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. The show generated strong conversations online earning praise for its daring writing style dark humour and standout performances. But while many viewers appreciated Aryan’s confident debut not everyone connected with the show’s tone. Pakistani actor Alyy Khan who acted with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Don 2 recently opened up about why the series didn’t work for him.
Alyy Khan says the profanity felt excessive
Speaking on the ARY Podcast Alyy Khan shared that he did watch Aryan’s show but found it difficult to appreciate certain aspects especially the language used throughout. He explained that the excessive profanity took away from the viewing experience rather than adding realism or impact. Alyy said “Recently maine Aryan ka kaam dekha… mujhe bohot ajeeb laga. Ek toh family ke saath aap dekh nahi sakte because the language is so inappropriate. Us language ki koi justification bhi nahi thi. Aur jiss level ke log dikhaye the kya woh aise sadak-chap language use karte hai?”
Alyy further explained that strong language can be effective when used with purpose but loses impact when sprinkled unnecessarily. He shared “Agar gaali deni bhi hai toh close-up ki tarah honi chahiye jab zarurat ho tab bolo tabhi impact aata hai. Har sentence mein ho toh cringe hota hai boriyat ho jaati hai.”
