It is not necessary to take medicine every time to get relief from the pain and cramps of periods that occur every month. There are many medicines in Ayurveda, which provide relief from these problems. Fennel found in the kitchen is no less than a medicine.
Ayurveda considers fennel taken after food as a tridosha destroyer (balancing Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and a powerful medicine with cooling effect. Eating a little fennel daily improves everything from digestion to periods, eyesight and skin glow.
The most important thing is that fennel regulates periods. By eating fennel with jaggery, periods come on time and without pain. At the same time, there is relief in cramps also. It is said in Ayurveda that many health benefits can be derived from the consumption of fennel. Taking powder of fennel, cumin and black salt after meals keeps the stomach light. The digestive system becomes stronger, which removes the problems of constipation, gas and indigestion. Boiling one spoon fennel in two cups of water and drinking it 2-3 times a day helps in getting rid of phlegm, which provides relief from cough and asthma. Fennel is also beneficial for those who have weak eyes. Grinding fennel and sugar candy in equal quantities and taking one spoon with water in the morning and evening improves eyesight.
Grinding almonds, fennel and sugar candy in equal quantities and taking one spoon daily after meals improves memory. It is also helpful in curing mouth ulcers caused by stomach heat. Boil fennel water, add alum and gargle 3-4 times a day. Chewing fennel purifies blood and increases the glow of the skin. Chewing one spoon fennel 30 to 40 minutes after eating helps in controlling cholesterol.
Ayurveda says that fennel never weakens the digestive fire, rather it speeds up digestion and cools the body. Eating a little fennel daily keeps the liver healthy, keeps the stomach clean and improves the skin. However, please consult a physician before consumption.
