CM Dhami said in the 47th PR Conference, ‘Dialogue is not a formality, it is the foundation of trust’; DG Information Banshidhar Tiwari honored

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday formally inaugurated the ’47th All India Public Relations Conference – 2025′ at Hotel Emerald Grand on Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun. Communication experts and public relations professionals from across the country are participating in this three-day conference organized by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI). On this occasion, the Chief Minister clarified that in today’s era, Public Relations (PR) is not just a medium of giving information, but it has become a powerful pillar of nation building.

The theme of the conference has been ‘Developed India @2047: Development as well as Heritage’. After lighting the lamp, the Chief Minister also inspected the photo exhibition organized there and the stalls of local handicraft products.

The challenge of reliable communication in the digital age

In his address, CM Dhami discussed in detail the challenges of the digital age. He said that in the present times there is a flood of information, but with this the danger of fake news and misinformation has also increased. In such a situation, the responsibility of PR professionals increases further.

He stressed that from disaster management to tourism and religious trips, a strong PR system is needed. This system should be such that instead of giving orders, it creates a relationship of partnership and trust with the public.

Economic Progress and Vision 2047 of Uttarakhand

Referring to the development journey of the state, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is progressing rapidly under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He informed that the size of the state’s economy is estimated to reach approximately Rs 3.78 lakh crore in the financial year 2024–25. In addition, there has been an increase in per capita income and a historic decline in the unemployment rate.

The CM said that infrastructure works like Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and ropeway projects are changing the face of the state. Besides, the government has also achieved great success in implementing the investment proposals received through the ‘Global Investors Summit’. He also mentioned schemes like ‘House of Himalayas’ and ‘One District – Two Products’ which are strengthening local livelihoods.

Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari honored

During this national conference, Additional Secretary and Director General of Information (DG Information) of Uttarakhand, Banshidhar Tiwari was specially honored. PRSI awarded him the National Honor for Excellence in Good Governance. This honor underlines the transparent and effective communication system of the state government.

The churning will continue for three days

In this conference to be held in Dehradun from 13 to 15 December, expert sessions will be organized on serious topics like media, technology, AI, cyber crime and international public relations. The presence of the delegation from Russia in the conference is giving it an international character.
