District understands the user’s preferences, city trends and activities and suggests which movie to watch, where to have dinner and which event would be better to attend. This AI based app is now playing the role of personal entertainment and food assistant, which made it the biggest winner of this year.
CookieRun India: Running Game has won in the gaming category. The game includes Indian characters, traditional costumes, desi music and local themes, making it directly connect with the Indian players. Due to its easy gameplay and fun elements, people of all ages are playing it. For this reason, this game received the Best Game of 2025 as well as the Best Pick Up and Play award.
A strong presence of AI based apps was seen in the list of 2025. InVideo AI, which was voted Best for Personal Growth, allows creating videos using only text. Toonsutra, which won Best Hidden Gem, transforms Indian comics into cinematic digital experiences with the help of AI. Apart from this, apps like Goodnotes and Luminar: Photo Editor are also making notes and photo editing very easy through AI.

This time Google also introduced the Top Trending category, which includes apps like Instamart, Seekho and Adobe Firefly. In the gaming segment, Free Fire Max was chosen as the Best Ongoing Game, while Indian games like Kamala Horror Exorcism Escape and Real Cricket Swipe also made a special mark.
According to Google, the Android and Play Store ecosystem supports more than 3.5 million jobs in India and contributes more than ₹4 trillion to the economy. This list of Best of 2025 shows that India’s app and game developer community has now become an example of innovation at the global level.
