Winter Skin Care for Oily Acne Prone Skin: In winter, oily and acne prone skin has to be taken care of in a slightly different way, because in winter the skin can become dry from outside and oily from inside. You can control pimples by adopting the right cleaning routine. Let us know how to clean oily and acne-prone skin in winter.
Use a mild face wash. Wash your face with a gentle face wash containing salicylic acid or tea tree oil twice a day (morning and night). This removes extra oil and dirt without drying the skin.
Clean your face with lukewarm water. Too hot water takes away moisture from the skin, which can further increase oil production. Lukewarm or normal water is best.
Be sure to apply toner. Natural toners like rose water or witch hazel help in tightening pores and controlling oil.
Don’t forget to apply oil-free moisturizer. Moisturizer is necessary even in winter. Choose gel-based or non-comedogenic moisturizers so that pores do not get blocked.
Do light exfoliation 1–2 times a week. Use a mild scrub or chemical exfoliant (like AHA/BHA) to remove dead skin. Excessive scrubbing can increase acne.
Avoid touching the face frequently. Touching the face with dirty hands spreads bacteria, which can increase acne.
Don’t forget to apply sunscreen, even in winter the sun causes harm. For oily skin, use gel-based or matte sunscreen.
