According to Ayurveda, our skin reflects the condition inside the body. When dryness increases in the body or there is lack of nutrition, its effect is first visible on the feet and ankles. There are many home remedies available in Ayurveda, using which can provide considerable relief from cracked heels. This remedy is to Amritdhara easily available in the market.

Ayurveda believes that the herbal ingredients present in Amritdhara reduce skin inflammation and help in healing of cracks. If you take four drops of Amritdhara and mix it with a little petroleum jelly and apply it on the heels before sleeping at night, the dryness of the heels gradually starts reducing. By using it daily, the heels become soft and there is no problem of cracking.

Cracked heels are not only to external care but also due to lack of nutrition inside the body. Due to deficiency of Vitamin C and Vitamin B3 the skin becomes weak. When the skin does not get proper nutrition, it starts cracking. Therefore, it is important to include foods like amla, lemon, orange, green vegetables and whole grains in your plate.

Apart from Amritdhara, Ayurveda also has some other simple home remedies. Applying lukewarm coconut oil on the heels every night provides deep nourishment to the skin. By adding a little rock salt to hot water and immersing the feet for some time, the skin becomes soft. Applying honey reduces pain in cracks and speeds up healing. Applying mashed ripe banana on the heels provides natural moisture, while light scrubbing with rice flour and honey makes the heels clean and soft.
