Hollywood is in shock after legendary actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday. Reports indicate both were stabbed to death, and authorities are investigating the case as a homicide.
Rob Reiner, aged 78, gained fame for his iconic role as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on the groundbreaking CBS sitcom All in the Family. He later became a celebrated director, delivering classic films including This Is Spinal Tap, A Few Good Men, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, and Misery. His final film, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, continued the cult legacy of the 1984 mockumentary.
Michele Singer, 68, met Rob during the making of When Harry Met Sally…, and the couple married in 1989. They are survived by their three children: Jake, Nick, and Romy.
Following the shocking deaths, Rob and Michele’s family released a statement expressing their grief: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
Further reports suggest that their son, Nick Reiner, has been named as a top suspect in the investigation, according to multiple sources cited by People magazine. Authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
