In an effort to reach 4.55 lakh children in the district by December 20, health department teams will start making door-to-door visits on Monday to provide polio drops to children ages one to five, according to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Narendra Kumar.

Dr. Kumar pointed out that even though India has been proclaimed polio-free, vaccination campaigns are still being conducted in compliance with WHO rules since there are still polio cases in nearby nations. He emphasized the need of prompt immunization, saying that polio is a dangerous illness that may result in lifelong disability but can be avoided with regular vaccinations and polio drops.

According to Dr. Ravindra Kumar Siroha, the district immunization officer, the polio virus spreads quickly and mostly targets children’s neurological systems. Every dosage of the polio vaccine is essential for a child’s safe and healthy future, according to Deputy CMO Dr. Ubaid Qureshi, who also advised parents to make sure all children up to age five get vaccinated.

To reach the district’s vaccination goal, health department workers will carry on the door-to-door immunization campaign from December 16 to December 20.
