New Delhi: The IPL 2026 mini-auction is set to take place on Tuesday December 16 in Abu Dhabi where over 350 players will go under the hammer. The 10 franchises can fill a total of 77 slots including 31 overseas players. This time the teams strategies in the auction will vary significantly depending on their available funds and vacant slots.
KKR and CSKs Big Plans
Kolkata Knight Riders will enter this auction with the strongest purse (₹64.30 crore). With 12 slots vacant KKR is in the mood for major changes. The team is looking for a wicketkeeper-batsman an opener a long-term replacement for Andre Russell and overseas fast bowlers.Meanwhile Chennai Super Kings (₹43.40 crore) biggest priority will be to bring back Matheesha Pathirana.
