In an attempt to evade the police, a 21-year-old woman tried to flee from a hotel balcony using a drain pipe but lost her balance and fell from the fourth floor. The incident occurred in Bengaluru, and a complaint has been filed by the woman’s father.
According to the complaint, the young woman had checked into Sea Esta Lodge in the Brookefield area along with seven of her friends.
What Happened?
The woman and her friends had booked three hotel rooms from 1 am to 5 am, during which a late-night party was underway. The loud noise from the rooms disturbed nearby residents, who dialled the emergency helpline number 112 and alerted the police.
Acting on the complaint, Bengaluru Police reached the hotel and reprimanded the group, informing them that their noise was causing inconvenience to people living in the surrounding area.
Seeing the police at the hotel, the 21-year-old woman panicked and attempted to escape. She tried to climb down from the fourth floor using a drain pipe attached to the balcony. During the attempt, she lost her balance and fell to the ground.
Condition Critical
After the fall, her friends rushed her to a nearby hospital. Doctors have said that her condition remains critical.
Police Investigation Underway
Based on the complaint filed by the woman’s father, the police have registered a case against the owner of Sea Esta Lodge. As part of the investigation, statements will be recorded from the woman’s friends, hotel staff, and the police personnel who were present at the scene at the time of the incident.
Police officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and all aspects of the incident are being examined to determine responsibility and accountability in the matter.
