Former MP Ram Vilas Vedanti, the architect of Ram Mandir movement, passes away, CM Yogi expressed grief

Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ram Vilas Vedanti, who was a leading leader of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, died on Monday due to a heart attack in a hospital in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. The news of the demise of 67-year-old Dr. Vedanti, a native of Rewa, sent a wave of mourning across Ayodhya, the entire saint community and the political world.

Breathed his last during treatment in a hospital in his hometown Rewa.

Dr. Ramvilas Das Vedanti, who was ill for the last few months, was on a tour of Rewa district. On Wednesday his health suddenly deteriorated and he was immediately admitted to the hospital. Doctors made continuous efforts to save him, but he died during treatment.

Akshay Srivastava, Superintendent of Super Specialty Hospital affiliated to Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa, said that Vedanti was admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning. At the time of admission, Dr. Vedanti was suffering from blood poisoning (septicemia) and it had spread significantly.

According to the hospital superintendent, Dr. Vedanti’s blood pressure had dropped drastically and his kidneys had also stopped functioning. He suffered a heart attack on Sunday night and the team of doctors made every possible effort for his treatment. For this he was put on ventilator. But despite all efforts he could not be saved.

These days Vedanti was narrating stories in Bhathwa (Lalgaon) of Rewa.

Vedanti, who was the executive chairman of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, was narrating stories these days in Bhathwa (Lalgaon) of Rewa district. The Medical Superintendent said that after the heart attack on Sunday, an attempt was made to take him by air ambulance to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhopal, but this was not possible due to poor visibility.

Ram Vilas Vedanti was born on October 7, 1958 in Gurhwa (Gudh) of Rewa district. He was associated with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement for a long time and led the movement while living in Ayodhya. He was also elected MP from Pratapgarh and Machlishahr Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttar Pradesh. Vedanti’s disciple Chhote Das Maharaj told that his last rites will be performed in Ayodhya.

CM Yogi said – His death is an irreparable loss for the spiritual world and Sanatan culture.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the demise of former BJP MP Ram Vilas Das Vedanti. CM wrote on Twitter, ‘The demise of Dr. Ram Vilas Vedanti Ji Maharaj, the main pillar of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, former MP and revered saint of Vashishtha Ashram located in Shri Ayodhya Dham, is an irreparable loss for the spiritual world and Sanatan culture. Humble tribute to him! His passing is the end of an era. His sacrificial life dedicated to the service of religion, society and nation is an inspiration for all of us. It is a prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed saint a place at his feet and the bereaved disciples and followers the strength to bear this immense sorrow. Om Shanti!’

Dr. Vedanti was a true hero – Keshav Prasad Maurya

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said, ‘It would not be wrong to say that Dr. Ram Vilas Das Vedanti was a true hero, and we have seen his service as a former MP. He was a determined and courageous leader who made significant contributions to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. I pay my heartfelt tribute to him on his demise… We were with him in many struggles to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, and today we are deeply saddened and pained to hear this news. We pray to God to give him a place at his feet.
