Uttar Pradesh: The Ganga Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway would be connected by a 74.3-kilometer link expressway, according to proposals released by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). Additionally, this new route will connect Noida International Airport to the Ganga Expressway.
The Yamuna Authority has finished the survey and is getting ready to buy land in 56 villages to make this possible. According to Jagran.com, the land purchase procedure is expected to start in January 2026.
Connect the Ganga-Yamuna Expressway with a Link Expressway
The Ganga and Yamuna expressways will be directly connected by a vital link expressway that the UPEIDA plans to construct.
The link expressway would connect to km 24.8 of the Yamuna Expressway, close to Sector 21 Film City, after beginning at kilometre 44.3 of the Ganga Expressway, which is situated in the Siyana neighbourhood of Bulandshahr.
About 20 kilometers of this connection are within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority’s (YEIDA) control, according to a report by Jagran.com.
In order to facilitate easy mobility for locals, a separate service road will be created beside the link motorway, and nine kilometers of the motorway will be raised.
Purchasing Land for the Link Expressway
On land purchased from 56 villages, UPEIDA will build the 4000 crore link highway that would connect the Yamuna and Ganga expressways. The majority of the land is in the 48 villages of Bulandshahr, including 14 in Khurja tehsil; the remaining portion is spread over Siyana, Shikarpur, and Bulandshahr tehsils. The purchase proposal also includes eight villages in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
The land will be bought by the Yamuna Authority and given to the UPEIDA. According to the Jagran.com story, the land purchase procedure is scheduled to start in January 2026.
Principal Advantages of the Link Expressway
Important access to the Noida International Airport, Agra, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be guaranteed if the Ganga Expressway, which connects Meerut to Prayagraj, is joined to the Yamuna Expressway by the link expressway.
The link highway would provide easy cargo truck traffic to the airport or any other connected national road by providing direct access to Yamuna City’s industrial areas, including areas 28, 29, 32, and 33.
Authorities are also investigating the potential of connecting National Highway (NH) 34 to the proposed motorway. A definitive action plan for this prolongation hasn’t been formalized yet, however.
