Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha recently voiced her frustration over a 6-hour delay of her Air India flight, sharing her experience on Instagram before later deleting the post. The incident highlights ongoing issues faced by travelers, including celebrities, with the Indian national carrier.
According to Indian media reports, actress revealed that she had been at the airport since 4 a.m. for her flight scheduled at 5 a.m. However, the departure was repeatedly delayed, ultimately pushed to 11 a.m. without any updates or explanations from the airline.
In her Instagram story, Sonakshi shared a window seat photograph from the plane and wrote, “I hate you, Air India. I have been at the airport since 4 a.m. to catch my 5 a.m. flight, but it was delayed every hour until 11 a.m. The national airline should do better.” She later deleted this post.
This is not the first time Air India has faced public complaints from celebrities. Recently, musician Anoushka Shankar openly criticized the airline after her sitar was damaged during a flight, despite her paying an extra handling fee for safe transport. She posted a video explaining her disappointment, stating that it was particularly upsetting as she had not flown with Air India in a long time and felt that a valuable Indian instrument could not be safely handled, while similar issues had never occurred with other airlines.
Other Bollywood stars, including Raveena Tandon, have also shared their concerns over Air India’s service and flight mishandlings, indicating a recurring issue with the airline’s operations and customer care.
Sonakshi’s complaint reflects the broader frustrations of passengers dealing with flight delays, lack of timely communication, and mishandling of luggage or instruments, raising questions about Air India’s operational standards and the need for better management. Despite being India’s national carrier, repeated incidents like these have sparked public scrutiny and calls for improved customer service.
As social media amplifies passenger experiences, Air India faces growing pressure to enhance communication, punctuality, and handling practices, ensuring travelers, including celebrities, receive reliable service.
