Akshaye Khanna: Best known for her portrayal of Anita Bhabhi in the television serial Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain, Saumya Tandon is presently making waves in the latest Aditya Dhar film, Dhurandhar. In case you didn’t know, the actress played Ulfat, the wife of Rehman Dakait. She described the situation in which she had to give Akshaye Khanna a smack. She also reminisced on their connection and spoke candidly about him as a seasoned performer.

After the loss of their eldest son, Saumya Tandon was venting her anger at Rehman in the role of Ulfat. When she finds out about her son’s untimely death, she immediately rushes to the hospital and gives her husband a cheek slap.

There was very little time for preparation or even off-camera conversation, Saumya Tandon told Mid-Day. “I honestly believe we had a lot of chemistry, even though I didn’t have time to talk to Akshaye. There seemed to be a strong sense of friendship between the two of us simply by looking at each other. He’s such a seasoned actor that I didn’t have to put in much effort to establish that connection. He is totally focused on the here and now.

“When the slap sequence first happened, I was attempting to cheat. “Don’t fake it, just go for it,” Aditya told me after that. ‘Should I go for it?’ I asked Akshaye, and he responded, rather casually, ‘Go for it.’ So I did. She said, “Even though I felt horrible slapping him, I just did it.”

Naveen, who played Donga, a member of Rehman Dakait’s gang, told FilmyGyan that Saumya had slapped Akshaye Khanna seven times. He continued by saying that the renowned actor wanted the scene to seem more potent. According to Naveen, Akshaye and the director instructed Saumya to concentrate just on the part.

“To strengthen the moment, Akshaye Sir continued to film one retake after another. Despite receiving several slaps, he never once hesitated. Saumya was being told by Akshaye and Aditya that she should put herself in the role and not consider herself a celebrity.
