AUS vs ENG 3rd Test, Ashes 2025-26:  Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has had a very high and low point in his cricket career in less than a day. Green played for Australia in the third Test match against England in the current Ashes 2025-26 series after being purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders for an incredible Rs 25.20 crore in the IPL 2026 auction.

Jofra Archer removed Green for a two-ball duck on the first day of the Adelaide Test, his first appearance since winning the big money in the IPL. Chennai Super Kings and KKR engaged in a bidding battle for the 25-year-old, with the three-time champions reaching a price of Rs 25 crore. With a purse of Rs 64.3 crore going into the auction, KKR won the player, making Green the most expensive foreign acquisition in IPL player auction history.

Before the 2024 edition, Green exceeded the previous record of Rs 24.75 crore that Kolkata paid for his fellow countryman, Mitchell Starc. Green expressed his enthusiasm about returning to the IPL after missing the previous season, saying he is eager to support KKR’s effort and take in the atmosphere at Eden Gardens. On their X Twitter, the Kolkata Knight Riders shared a video.

“I’m so excited to be part of Kolkata for this year’s IPL, to get down to the Eden Gardens, get used to the atmosphere and hope it’s a great year for us,” he said in the clip. “So, see you soon,” the 25-year-old said in a special greeting to the team’s fans. Ami KKR.

With the exit and retirement of veteran West Indies cricketer Andre Russell, Green’s arrival was a huge boost for KKR. The Australian star is anticipated to offer an amazing balance with his all-round ability. A few days before to the auction, Green said that he would be ready to bowl as well, despite having huge shoes to fill. But in the mini-auction, he was maintained in the batters’ group. The young Australian all-rounder played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2023 and 2024 IPL seasons, amassing 707 runs at an average of 41.58 in 29 games.

Green has only taken one wicket and scored 69 runs in two games so far in the Ashes, which has been a poor performance.
