The Bharat Taxi App is set to be launched on January 1 2026 to compete against major ride-hailing companies including Ola and Uber. The Bharat Taxi app under an initiative backed by the Government of India intends to create a viable alternative to the current taxi-hailing services while also providing a solution for the long-standing problems of soaring prices during the busiest times. Bharat Taxi is aiming to ease the burden that comes from oscillating prices on ride-sharing companies like Uber and Ola during peak traffic hours by creating an app that will provide fixed transparent pricing. According to the IndiaToday report one of the standout features of the Bharat Taxi app is its driver-friendly revenue model. It means that the driver will receive over 80 per cent of the total price of the ride as opposed to the low percentage given by most cab companies today. This should result in a significant improvement in the earnings of the drivers and reduce their dependence on high commission fees from these companies. There has been a significant interest in the Bharat Taxi Mobile App from the driver community in Delhi; over 56000 drivers have already signed up on the platform prior to its launch as reported by The IndiaToday. The Bharat Taxi app will provide a wide range of transport options including auto-rickshaws cars and bikes giving users the flexibility to select their preferred mode of travel according to their needs and convenience. The objective of the initiative is to promote a more equitable environment for both drivers and passengers while also creating a government-supported alternative in the world of Urban Mobility.
