A man was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in the head at a London Underground station. Police and Paramedics raced to Colliers Wood just before 10.30am this morning after receiving reports of a fight between three young men with knives.
An ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a fast response car all attended the scene where they treated a man for a head injury. The British Transport Police confirmed that man in his 20s was arrested at the station on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
The incident spelled chaos for Londoners with severe delays between Kennington and Morden. Colliers Wood Station remains closed at time of writing.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.29am today (17 December) to reports of a stabbing at Colliers Wood Underground Station, SW19.
"We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a fast response car. We treated a man for a head injury and took him to hospital."
Enquires into the brawl are now ongoing.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers attended Colliers Wood Underground station following reports at 10.30am today (17 December) of a fight between three young men involving knives.
"A man in his 20s was arrested at the station on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. He has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.Enquiries are ongoing.
