Ayushmann Khurrana, who recently completed the first schedule of Sooraj Barjatya's next, is all praise for the filmmaker.

In a recent interview with Mid-Day, he gushed about Barjatya, saying, "He approaches his work with such dedication, which truly motivates me."

"He works like a nerd, and that inspires me the most."

The actor will play Prem in the film, reportedly titled Yeh Prem Mol Liya.

"The best part of a Sooraj Barjatya film is that the hero is always a quintessential green flag."

"I usually love portraying characters who are flawed and have an arc, but here, the entire family is a green flag," he said.

Khurrana also opened up about his choice of films. He said he wants to cater to a wider audience while also doing films like Andhadhun and Article 15.

"I believe An Action Hero [2022] could have done better. So, I'm mixing up genres, commercial films with projects that are unique," he said.

"You have to gain the audience's faith. That's what I tried to build with Dream Girl 2 [2023] and Thamma."

On the work front, Khurrana was last seen in Maddock Films's Thamma, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna.

The movie was released in theaters on Diwali this year.

The film was a hit at the box office, earning ₹187.59 crore worldwide and ₹134.78 crore in India, as per Sacnilk.
