Material

  • Stale chapattis – 3 to 4
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Peanuts – half a bowl
  • Curry leaves – 8 to 10 leaves
  • Green Chillies – 1 to 2 (finely chopped)
  • Turmeric – half tsp
  • Red Chillies – to taste
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Sugar – pinch (optional)

  • For this, first cut the stale chapati into small squares or long pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add peanuts and fry until crispy.
  • Add green chillies and curry leaves to it and saute a little.
  • Now add turmeric, red chillies and salt and keep the flame low.
  • Add the chopped chapati pieces and stir well, so that the masala is spread all over.
  • Continue to fry on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes until the chidda becomes crispy.
  • Finally add a pinch of sugar and mix gently and switch off the flame.
  • Hot and spicy chapati chivda is ready. 2 to 2 if this chiva is cooled and stored in an airtight container
  • Lasts 3 days. Its taste is definitely doubled with tea or coffee.
