Drivers on the M25 today faced "severe" delays, National Highways warned. One lane was shut down on the M25 clockwise between junctions J5 and J6.

The closure was prompted by a "vehicle that left the carriageway", the organisation added. Traffic cameras showed cars seemingly at a standstill as the partial closure had been enforced.
