Phil 'The Power' Taylor has warned Daryl Gurney not to engage with the Ally Pally crowd when he takes on Beau Greaves at the World Darts Championship - and forget that he's facing a woman. The 39-year-old Gurney takes on one of the best talents of this generation and the Northern Irish thrower has been warned not to engage in any antics with the crowd that could throw him off his game.

Although two of the five female players on show are already out of the tournament, Taylor, the 16-time world champion, believes Greaves and Fallon Sherrock could make it through to the second round at Ally Pally. Greaves has been a dominant force in the Women's Series in 2025, claiming a sensational 86 consecutive triumphs.

The 21-year-old has won 13 titles in a row, finished second on the Winmau Development Tour this season and secured a PDC Tour Card for the next two years. Speaking ahead of their battle at Ally Pally, The Power told The Sun: "Daryl Gurney doesn't like the crowd against him. He argues with them. He gives it to them back.

"It's the Irish in him. You know, he's a scrapper, is Daryl, and he will scrap away.

"The crowd will start getting on his back - because Beau's going to play well, there's no two ways about that. If I was Daryl, I'd just ignore that she's a female player, and just get on with it.

"Just treat it as if you were playing me, Eric Bristow, Raymond van Barneveld, whoever. Just play the player in front of you, and forget about who she is."

"You could see two or three women going through," Taylor added. "It would be amazing. I wouldn't bet against it. Beau's throw, stance and follow-through are good. She's got a lot of bottle.

"Sometimes Beau can do an 11-darter, go off a little bit for a couple of legs, and then come back on form. Beau's getting more experience. So it's going to be a very interesting game."

Greaves will take on Gurney in the second game of tomorrow's evening session at Ally Pally, while Fallon Sherrock will do battle with Dave Chisnall tonight.
