On Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy to protect children from severe kidney diseases. He stated that a balanced and disciplined lifestyle can effectively combat these health issues.

While speaking at the 54th annual conference of the Indian Society of Nephrology held at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in the capital, the Chief Minister highlighted that living a balanced life is crucial in fighting serious kidney ailments.

Expressing his concerns, Adityanath pointed out that even young children are vulnerable to severe kidney diseases, necessitating the development of a robust strategy to safeguard them. He acknowledged that SGPGI has been dedicated to serving humanity since its inception.

He criticized previous state governments for neglecting the health sector, stating that hospitals faced financial shortages and became synonymous with dirt and disorder.

Since the BJP-led government took office in 2017, no government hospital, including SGPGI, has faced a lack of funding. The Chief Minister noted that from 1947 to 2017, Uttar Pradesh had only 17 medical colleges, but now the state boasts 80 medical colleges serving its 250 million residents.
