Ram Gopal Varma on Dhurandhar
Ram Gopal Varma shared a detailed and passionate review of Dhurandhar on social media describing the film as more than just a movie. According to him it represents a “quantum leap” for Indian cinema. He praised the way the film builds tension trusts the intelligence of the audience and allows characters to carry depth without lengthy explanations.
In his post he wrote “Every sequence feels compressed like a spring being wound never knowing when it will snap. And when it does the impact is not just brutal but it is also symphonically operatic.” He added that the performances are not meant to be instantly likeable but are designed to stay with viewers long after they leave the theatre.
Here are some unique lessons that all the so called film makers can learn from Dhurandhar
1.Unlike the other so called pan india big films the film doesn’t even try to elevate the hero and give him the so called elevation moments to make the audience forcefully worship him…

Aditya Dhar’s emotional reply to RGV
Aditya Dhar responded to the praise with a heartfelt message revealing how deeply RGV’s films have influenced him. He wrote “Sir… If this tweet were a film I would have gone to watch it first day first show stood in the last row and come out changed.”
Sharing his early struggles Dhar added “I came to Mumbai years ago carrying one suitcase one dream and an unreasonable belief that I would one day work under Ram Gopal Verma. That never happened. But somewhere along the way without knowing it I worked inside your cinema.”
Dhar went on to credit RGV for shaping his creative mindset. He said “Your films didn’t teach me how to make movies — they taught me how to think dangerously.” Reacting to the “quantum leap” comment he added “To have you say that Dhurandhar is a quantum leap feels surreal emotional and honestly a little unfair… because now whatever I do next has to live up to this tweet.” He further wrote “You were one of my favourite directors who made Indian cinema feel fearless impolite and alive.”
