Mumbai residents experienced mild weather on December 19, 2025, as the impact of the recent cold wave subsided, leading to comfortable day conditions amid clear skies.

Nights and mornings remained slightly cool (~19–21°C minimum), but maximum temperatures reached ~30–31°C, providing relief from weak northerly cold winds. Cold wave persists in interior Maharashtra regions like Marathwada and Vidarbha, but Mumbai escapes alert.

Conversely, dense fog engulfed Delhi-NCR, causing visibility to drop below 200m and disrupting travel. ~79 flights (including international) were canceled and over 230 were delayed at IGI Airport, which was operating under CAT III low visibility protocol. Airlines issue advisories; Rail services were delayed.

Delhi’s 24-hour AQI stood at 387 (‘very poor’), worse than the previous day, with 14 out of 39 stations recording ‘severe’ levels (>400), including hotspots like Anand Vihar (~441). Stagnant winds trap pollutants, posing a health risk.

IMD issues yellow fog alert, Thursday was the coldest day of this season (20.1°C maximum). Minimum temperature will be around 9–10°C; There is a possibility of dense fog in the morning, and it may improve slightly over the weekend.
