Let us tell you that even on the last day of the Parliament session, protests by opposition parties were seen in the Parliament premises. Opposition MPs protested against the central government for changing the name of MNREGA. During this, the MPs also raised slogans of ‘Don’t kill MNREGA’.
It may be noted that the Developed India Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission Bill ‘Ji Ram Ji’ was passed in the Lok Sabha on Thursday amidst huge uproar. This bill will replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), 2005. The opposition is mobilized and protesting against this decision of the government.
