Veteran Malayalam actor screenwriter director and producer Sreenivasan passed away on December 20 2025 at the age of 69. The legendary star took his last breath in Thripunithura Ernakulam. While the exact reason for his demise was not revealed Sreenivasan had not been keeping well for a long time. Renowned for his significant contributions to Malayalam cinema Sreenivasan has left a lasting impact on the industry and audiences across generations. As soon as the news of Sreenivasans demsie came to light several actors from the industry poured in their condolences. Among them was Prithviraj Sukumaran who expressed grief over the loss of Sreenivasans death. Taking to Instagram stories he wrote Adieu to one of the greatest ever writer/director/actor. Thank you for the laughs and the thoughts! Rest in peace (sic). Who was Sreenivasan ? Sreenivasan who hails from Kannur had been staying in Kochi for the past several years. Apart from acting he was also a director screenwriter dubbing artist and producer. He acted in over 200 films debuting with Manimuzhakkam in 1976. His two sons Vineeth Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan are also actors.
