India’s explosive victory: Australia’s record broken, new history created by defeating South Africa 3-1

IND VS SA: The Indian cricket team performed brilliantly in the fifth and final T20 match against South Africa and won by 30 runs. In this match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, batting first, scored a huge score of 231 runs, in response to which the Proteas team was reduced to 201 runs. With this, Team India won the series 3-1 and broke Australia’s old record by winning the ninth consecutive bilateral T20 series on home soil.

Overtook Australia in historical record

The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian team has won all the bilateral T20 series back-to-back at home from 2022 to 2025. This achievement surpasses Australia’s record of 8 consecutive home series wins between 2006–2010. Earlier, India had secured the third position by winning 7 series between 2019-2022. This victory testifies to the domestic invincibility of the Indian team.

Explosive innings of Hardik and Tilak

Team India had a great start after losing the toss and coming to bat first. Openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma played a fast innings and formed a strong partnership for the first wicket. After this, Tilak Verma played a brilliant inning of 73 runs in 42 balls. But the real storm came when Hardik Pandya came to the crease. He scored 63 runs in just 25 balls, which included 5 fours and 5 sixes. This innings of Hardik was India’s second fastest T20 half-century. A partnership of 105 runs between the two for the fourth wicket took the score to 231.

Amazing work of bowlers: Varun and Bumrah wreaked havoc

South Africa got off to a good start while chasing the target of 232 runs. Quinton de Kock played a quick inning of 65 runs, but the rest of the batsmen were seen struggling. Spinner Varun Chakraborty took 4 important wickets for 53 runs in 4 overs, while Jasprit Bumrah bowled economically and took 2 wickets for just 17 runs in 4 overs. Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh also restricted the visiting team to 201 runs by taking one wicket each.

This win is a great end to 2025 for the Indian team. The team is continuously getting stronger under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, which is a positive sign for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
