Delhi Airport Incident: A shocking incident related to the Delhi Airport incident has come to light, which has raised many questions regarding the safety of the aviation sector and passengers. In this dispute at IGI Airport Terminal-1, a passenger has accused the Air India Express pilot of physical attack. As soon as the matter came to light, the airline took immediate action and removed the accused pilot from duty until the investigation is completed. This incident became even more serious after it went viral on social media, after which the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) also took cognizance of the entire matter.
According to passenger Ankit Diwan, he was traveling with his family. He was also accompanied by a four-month-old child, who was being carried in a stroller. Diwan claims that for this reason the airport staff advised him to go through the PRM and Staff Security Check area. But this is where the controversy started. According to Diwan, some staff members broke the line and started leaving ahead of him.

When Ankit Dewan objected to breaking the line, a pilot named Captain Virendra, who is said to be associated with Air India Express, joined the conversation. The passenger alleges that the pilot questioned him about his education and even asked, “Don't you know how to read?” and “Can't you see the sign that says this is for entry staff?”
According to the passenger, first an altercation took place and then the matter escalated. Diwan alleges that the pilot physically attacked him, due to which he got injured and started bleeding. While sharing a post on social media platform X, he said that the blood seen on the pilot's shirt is his own. As soon as this post surfaced, the matter quickly went viral.
Ankit Diwan told that this entire incident spoiled his family trip. He also claimed that his younger daughter went into shock after seeing the attack, which left the entire family mentally disturbed.
Air India Express issued an official statement acknowledging the incident. The airline said that the pilot concerned was not on duty at the time of the incident, but was traveling as a passenger on another airline. The airline apologized and said that the accused employee has been removed from official duty with immediate effect and further action will be taken until the internal investigation is completed.
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Civil Aviation Ministry also immediately intervened. The ministry directed Air India Express to ground the pilot and sought a detailed report from BCAS and CISF. The ministry has made it clear that further action will be decided only after an impartial investigation.
This incident does not seem to be limited to just one person, but also raises questions on issues like airport staff entry, PRM system and crowd management. Now only after investigation it will be clear where the mistake happened and whose responsibility lies with whom.
