Strictly Come Dancing fans wasted no time voicing their confusion during the live final on Saturday night, with many taking issue with the show's opening song choice just minutes into the broadcast. The grand finale kicked off on the BBC with a group performance soundtracked by We Got Love, Australia's Eurovision Song Contest 2018 entry - a decision that left viewers stunned. One fan wrote: "Not them using Australia Eurovision 2018 on Strictly???" while another questioned: "Eurovision 2018 song randomly opening the Strictly final?!"

A third added: "Not the Eurovision jumpscare immediately at the start of the Strictly final." Others were equally baffled by the throwback choice, with one posting: "Not 20th place in Eurovision 2018's Jessica Mauboy's We Got Love." However, not everyone was complaining. Some fans rushed to defend the surprise Eurovision throwback, branding the moment "iconic" and hailing the song choice as a bold opener for the final.

One viewer wrote: "AND TO We Got Love by Jessica Mauboy - the robbed Eurovision banger?! Iconic indeed #Strictly."
Another added: "What an iconic entrance. JESSICA MAUBOY ON STRICTLY????? Did not expect to hear Eurovision!"

Each couple will perform three times in the final, showcasing their favourite routine from the series, a judges' pick and their all-important Showdance.

There were also extra big cheers in the ballroom for Tess and Claudia, who already looked close to tears as the show got underway.

"Thank you for joining us for one glorious last night in the ballroom," Tess said, as members of the Strictly class of 2025 prepared to return to the dance floor one final time for a group routine.

With the Glitterball on the line, viewers were reminded that votes alone will decide the winner, with judges' scores acting as guidance only.

Amber set the bar high with a fiery paso doble to open the show.

Shirley said: "That's definitely the way to open the show. I'm particularly proud of you. It was subtle, it was in, it was on, it was beautiful."

Anton added: "Wow! Wow! If you're opening the evening, that's the way to do it. Very easy to comment on, it was all brilliant."

Craig agreed, telling her: "I have to totally agree. It had focus, it had all the necessary passion, you managed to get the shaping sorted. You are the most committed person I have ever met."

Motsi said: "I love the way you guys used the music to heighten the routine and show the passion. Beautiful shapes all over your body. You can be proud of yourself."

Amber's scores came in at 9, 10, 10 and 10, giving her an impressive total of 39. Amber Davies, Karen Carney and George Clarke will each take to the floor three times tonight.

And as if the stakes weren't high enough, the night promises to be especially emotional as it marks Tess and Claudia's final show as hosts.
