In Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, the courage of cyber criminals has become so high that now even the head of the police department is their target. A fake Facebook profile has been created using the name and photo of district SP Shrut Kirti Somvanshi. Through this fake ID, vicious thugs also sent friend requests to many people.

When people received a friend request on social media from an ID with SP’s name and photo, many people believed it to be genuine. It was a big deal for common citizens to connect with the district’s top police officer on social media, so a large number of people started accepting the request. However, some conscious citizens became suspicious of this activity. When he discussed it on other social media platforms, the matter reached the SP.

When SP Somvanshi saw this ID with his photo, he was surprised. He immediately clarified that this profile is completely fake and has been created by some vicious person. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the SP immediately informed the people through various mediums not to join or interact with this fake account created in his name. They have clarified that they are filing a report in this regard and the cyber cell has been directed to trace the accused as soon as possible.

An attempt to cheat has also been made in the name of the collector

This is not the first case of forgery in the name of a top official in Damoh. A few days before this, a similar incident had happened with district collector Sudhir Kochhar. Then cyber criminals had created a WhatsApp account from a number in Vietnam using the collector’s photo and demanded money from people. During that time some edited pictures of the collector were also made viral. Despite the Collector’s complaint, the police have still not been able to reach the culprits in that case, and now the SP has been targeted.

The fortunate thing is that in the case of SP, the fake ID was exposed early on. If this was not revealed in time, then common people could have become victims of fraud or criminals could have harmed the image of SP by carrying out any illegal activity through this account.
