The Indian team, adorned with stars like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Ayush Mhatre, has lost to Pakistan in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan lost the toss and batted first and scored 347 runs losing 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, in response to which Team India was all out for 156 runs in 26.2 overs.

No Indian batsman could run during the big run chase in the title match. While Ayush Mhatre could score only 2 runs in 7 balls, ‘Mr. Consistent’ Aaron George returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs in 9 balls. After the dismissal of these two, a big innings was expected from Vaibhav Suryavanshi but he also left after throwing his wicket. Vaibhav scored 26 runs in 10 balls with the help of 1 four and 3 sixes.

Half the team was reduced to power play only.

The Indian team had lost the wickets of Ayush, George and Vaibhav within 5 overs. Even after this, the process of falling of wickets continued and Vihaan Malhotra (7) and Vidant Trivedi also kept walking, due to which half of the Indian team was reduced to power play and the hopes of victory were also lost. Deepesh Devendran scored 36 runs in 16 balls and was out as the last wicket. For Pakistan, Ali Raja took 4 wickets, while Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan and Huzaifa Ehsan took 2 wickets each.

Team India could not even score as many runs as Sameer Minhas

Right-handed opener Sameer Minhas played an inning of 172 runs in 113 balls, hitting 17 fours and 9 sixes, due to which Pakistan scored a mountain-like score. Ahmed Hussain also contributed 56 runs. Deepesh Devendran took maximum 3 wickets for India.

Considering the pressure of the final, the Indian team had an impossible target but due to its strong batting line up, the match was considered to be equal. However, the Indian batting was a complete flop and the team collapsed after scoring 16 runs less than Pakistani opener Sameer Minhas.
