Christmas 2025: Every year, Christmas festival is celebrated on 25th December all over the world including India. This festival is very special for Christian people. Christmas is celebrated to celebrate the birthday of Jesus. Whenever the festival of Christmas is talked about, it is also mentioned that Muslims also express deep love and respect for Jesus (Alaihi Salaam), but do not celebrate Christmas. Let us know what is the reason behind this?

In the religion of Islam, it is believed that Jesus (Alaihi Salaam) is one of the prophets sent by Allah. Jesus has been mentioned in the Quran. The Quran sees Jesus Christ as an important figure who came before the Prophet Mohammed. Not only this, Jesus is mentioned more times than Prophet Mohammad in the Quran. Jesus is mentioned at least 35 times in the Quran. In the Quran, he has been called Jesus or Isa 27 times and 'Messiah' 8 times.

What does Islam think about Jesus Christ?

Like Christians, people of Islam also believe that Jesus was born from the womb of Mary without a father by the will of God. Just like Allah created Adam without mother and father. Similarly, by the order of Allah, Jesus was also born. Muslims believe that just as all the prophets in the religion of Islam had taught to worship only Allah, similarly Jesus also taught people to worship only Allah. Christians believe that Jesus was crucified, but Muslims do not believe so. They say that Allah saved them and took them to heaven.

Why don't Muslims celebrate Christmas?

Islam believes that one should believe only in all the prophets sent by Allah. That is why Muslims have deep love and respect for Jesus, but despite this they do not celebrate the festival of Christmas. Because Islam believes in monotheism (Tawhid). Jesus was a prophet for Muslims. Giving the status of God to Jesus is considered against Islamic teachings. This has been clearly said in the Quran.
