A teenager has died, and a girl has been injured after a car crashed into a carden, with police arresting three teens and a 40-year-old man. Emergency services were called at around 12.55am following reports that a grey Ford Fiesta had left the road and crashed into the garden of a residential property.
When officers and paramedics arrived at the scene, they quickly located the vehicle, which had come to rest in the garden of a nearby property. The car was badly damaged, and inside they found two occupants who had not yet been able to get out. Police are now urging members of the public to come forward with any information, dashcam footage, or eyewitness accounts after a tragic road traffic incident in Bradford resulted in the death of an 18yearold boy.
Officers from the Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the West Lane, Baildon area during the early hours of Saturday 20 December, when the collision occurred.
On arrival, responders found two occupants inside the vehicle. A 17yearold girl was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition, while the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to save him.
Initial enquiries suggest the Fiesta may have been travelling alongside a white Suzuki Swift SZ3 shortly before the crash, prompting further investigative lines.
Three 18-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident. A 40-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and assisting an offender.
All four individuals remain in custody as detectives continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
West Yorkshire Police said in a statement: "Multiple police enquiries remain ongoing and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw or has footage of the collision or the two cars involved before it took place. Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact MCET on 101 referencing police log 0095 of December 20."
