Dominic Arun reveals writing a screenplay for Lokah Chapter 2'; says, 'There is no formula to making a blockbuster film'

While the makers have already announced that the film will have sequels, director Dominic Arun recently shared that he is working on the screenplay of the second installment. Dominic Arjun shares an update on 'Lokah 2'Filmmaker Dominic Arun recently graced the Directors Roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter India, where he talked about the film's success, updates on the second part, and more.

He said, "For me, this huge success was something I never expected. I was just trying to make a film that I enjoy watching. A film that has got moments that typically come in a superhero film ."

The filmmaker shared that what he has shown in the movie appeals to him, and hence he stated that it was a "selfish thing" initially. The director revealed that when he started narrating the script to his friends, he got a feeling this was going to work. He said, "Everybody is enjoying it; everybody is getting what I’m trying to communicate."

' Lokah Chapter 2 'During the same interaction, Dominic Arun revealed that when he approached Dulquer Salmaan , he got "super excited." The filmmaker shared that the movie has now gotten out of their hands. Talking about what made the movie a massive hit, he said, "There is no formula to making a blockbuster film . So, I’ll go back to the basics, start writing, and then see how it goes because it’s been difficult. Now, there’s a lot of pressure. I have just written a couple of scenes now."

More about 'Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra'Directed by Dominic Arun, the film featured Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role. It also starred Naslen, Sandy, Chandu Salim Kumar, and Arun Kurian. The dark fantasy superhero flick was released in theaters on August 28, 2025, and received love from audiences as well as critics. The movie, made on a reported budget of Rs 30 crore, went on to earn over Rs 300 crore at the worldwide box office.
