YouTube has taken a major step against misleading AI-generated content. The platform has permanently banned two channels for repeatedly violating its rules. One of the channels, Screen Culture, was operated from India, while the other, KH Studio, was operated from Georgia. Both channels were known for creating fake movie trailers that looked exactly like official trailers from real film studios.

Currently, neither of these channels appears in YouTube search results. If someone tries to access their channel links directly, they see the message "This page isn't available." Screen Culture and KH Studio together had over 2 million subscribers, and their videos had accumulated over 1 billion views.

According to a report by Deadline, these channels combined footage from real films with AI-generated visuals to create fake trailers for upcoming movies and web series. These videos looked so realistic that ordinary viewers were easily deceived and believed that the trailers were released by the film studios.

Previous Penalties
Earlier this year, YouTube demonetized both channels for misleading content and failing to properly disclose AI or synthetic media. According to YouTube's policy, if content is AI-generated and appears realistic, it must be clearly labeled.

Why did YouTube ban them?
YouTube spokesperson Jack Malon told The Verge that the channels were briefly reinstated into the YouTube Partner Program after making corrections. However, as soon as they were allowed to monetize again, they resumed violating rules related to spam and misleading metadata. This is why YouTube completely removed them from the platform.

Screen Culture's Strategy
Screen Culture founder Nikhil P. Choudhary explained that his team consisted of more than 10 editors. Their strategy involved quickly uploading videos, frequently uploading different versions, and exploiting YouTube's algorithm. According to a report, this channel had uploaded more than 20 fake trailers for the Fantastic Four film, some of which even appeared higher in search results than the official trailer.
This decision by YouTube clearly shows that the platform has become much stricter regarding misleading content created with AI. Creators who mislead viewers will face strict action.
