The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has introduced a major reform in its document verification process, bringing significant relief to Class 10 and Class 12 students, as well as institutions that require verification of Bihar Board certificates. Under the new rules, document verification will now be conducted entirely online, eliminating the need for physical visits to the board office, postal correspondence, and long waiting periods.

This new facility will be fully implemented from January 1, 2026, and is being seen as a major step towards digitisation and transparency in the education system.

What Has Changed in Bihar Board Document Verification?

Until now, verification of marksheets, certificates, and other academic documents issued by the Bihar Board involved an offline process. Institutions had to send applications by post, attach demand drafts, and wait for weeks—or even months—for verification to be completed. Students often had to follow up repeatedly, sometimes even visiting the board office in Patna.

With the new rule, this entire process has been shifted online. Verification requests will now be submitted, processed, and tracked digitally through a dedicated portal, making the system faster, simpler, and more transparent.

Introduction of the New Document Verification System (DVS)

To support this change, BSEB has launched a dedicated online platform called the Document Verification System (DVS). Through this system, verification of documents related to:

  • Matric (Class 10)

  • Intermediate (Class 12)

  • Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)

  • D.El.Ed

  • Competency and other board-conducted examinations

will now be carried out online.

The official portal for this service is verification.biharboardonline.com. From January 1, 2026 onwards, no applications sent via post or demand draft will be accepted for document verification. The system was formally launched by Bihar Board Chairman Anand Kishor.

Who Can Use This Online Verification Facility?

The new online verification system has been primarily designed for institutions that need to verify Bihar Board documents. These include:

  • Government departments

  • Private and non-government organisations

  • Educational institutions in Bihar and other states

  • Foreign universities and companies

  • Recruitment agencies and employers

These institutions often require verification for admissions, jobs, or official appointments, and the new system will significantly reduce their workload and delays.

Step-by-Step Process for Institutions

All institutions will be required to register themselves on the DVS portal. The process is as follows:

  1. Institution Registration
Institutions must first register on the portal by providing their full address, type (government, private, etc.), and other required details.

  2. Login Access
After successful registration, institutions will receive a user ID and password to log in to the system.

  3. Upload Student Details
Institutions need to upload the number of students whose documents are to be verified along with their relevant details.

  4. Online Fee Payment
The software will automatically calculate the verification fee based on the category of request. Payment must be made online through the portal.

  5. Verification Process Begins
Once the fee is paid, the verification process will start automatically. The system will route the application to the appropriate officer or department without any manual intervention.

Key Benefits of the New System

The new verification process offers multiple advantages for students and institutions alike:

  • Time-saving: Tasks that earlier took months will now be completed within days.

  • No physical visits: Institutions and students will no longer need to visit the board office in Patna.

  • Full transparency: Online tracking will reduce confusion and eliminate chances of misuse or corruption.

  • Digital records: All verification requests will be securely stored and accessible online.

  • Reduced paperwork: No postal delays, drafts, or manual files involved.

For support or queries related to the new system, institutions can contact the Bihar Board at bsebdvs2025@gmail.com.

What Does This Mean for Students?

For students who have passed from the Bihar Board, this change brings major convenience. They will no longer need to personally run after verification requests for jobs or higher education. Institutions will handle the verification process directly through the online system, and students will only need to provide their basic details when required.

This reform is expected to make Bihar Board certificates more easily verifiable nationwide and internationally, boosting credibility and efficiency.

A Big Step Towards Digital Education Services

The launch of the online Document Verification System marks a significant milestone for the Bihar School Examination Board. It aligns with the broader Digital India initiative and reflects the board’s commitment to modernising education-related services.

Institutions have been advised to complete their registration on the portal at the earliest to avoid any inconvenience after January 1, 2026. With this move, BSEB has ensured that document verification becomes faster, cleaner, and more reliable—benefiting students, institutions, and employers alike.
