Karnataka all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

The 37-year-old announced the same at a press conference held at the Media Lounge, KSCA (Karnataka State Cricket Association), on Monday, December 21.

He was joined by KSCA President Venkatesh Prasad, Vice President Sujith Somasundar, and Secretary Santosh Menon during this special event.

Career highlights

Gowtham had a brief international career, playing a solitary ODI for India on July 23, 2021. He took the wicket of Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Minod Bhanuka in his only international appearance.

Overall, the off-spinner featured in 59 First-Class, 68 List A, and 92 T20 encounters. He took 224, 96, and 74 wickets, respectively, in the three formats.

A handy batter down the order, Gowtham scored a red-ball ton and struck at 158.18 in T20s.

Gowtham played 36 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, representing Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants.

The all-rounder was acquired by LSG in 2024, marking his last season. His best season was 2018 for RR (11 wickets and SR of 196.87).
