Bulandshahr. Justice has finally been sealed in the heinous crime that horrified the lives of a family traveling on the National Highway. In the NH-91 gangrape case of Bulandshahr, the court on Monday sentenced all five convicts to life imprisonment. This decision is not only a relief for the victim's family, but also gives a message to the society that there is no leniency in the law for such criminals.
This horrific incident happened on July 29, 2016, when a family of five members going from Noida to Shahjahanpur reached near Dostpur village on NH-91 in Kotwali Dehat area of Bulandshahr. The accused stopped the car by placing an iron rod on the road. After this, the entire family was forcibly taken out of the car and taken to nearby fields.
The accused gang-raped the mother and her daughter after taking them to the fields. During this time, other family members could not do anything in their helpless situation. After the incident, there was a sensation in the entire area and the matter remained in discussion for a long time.
Additional District Government Advocate Varun Kaushik said after the verdict that forensic evidence proved to be very important in this case. The discovery of DNA of one of the accused from the clothes of the victim's mother became the conclusive evidence, on the basis of which the court sentenced the culprits.
Varun Kaushik said that the court has given a clear message that it is necessary to keep such criminals away from the society. While sentencing all five convicts to life imprisonment, the court made it clear that the law is very strict for those who commit crimes against women.

A charge sheet was filed against a total of six accused in this case, but one accused died in jail in 2019 during the trial. After this, the hearing continued against the remaining five accused and now the court has given the final verdict.
This decision, which came after almost nine years, has once again proved that even if justice takes time, the culprits are definitely punished on the basis of truth and evidence. This decision is a balm to the wounds of the victim's family and also a strong warning message to the society.
