The BBC has been dealt a significant blow as one of its top stars, Stacey Solomon, has postponed all her reality TV show, Stacey & Joe, for the foreseeable future. She and her husband Joe Swash appeared in the documentary Stacey and Joe this year, with the first episode bringing over four million viewers for it's first episode. A second series was quickly commissioned, as viewers got to see inside Pickle Cottage once again. Stacey's decision has been confirmed exclusively to Express.co.uk by her representative, who revealed the reason behind the bombshell move.
A spokesperson for Stacey Solomon said: "Stacey is taking a break from her reality TV work. Whilst she has loved doing Stacey and Joe, she has found the intensified media interest from some outlets tough. She's taken legal action where required around false stories and received a correction and apology from the Daily Mail.
"Stacey and her family love filming the show and hope it will return at some point and are very grateful for the support they've been shown by the production company and broadcaster. Series 6 of Sort Your Life Out will TX in 2026".
Sort Your Life Out will continue. The BBC has been approached for comment by Express.co.uk.
This new Stacey move is sure to be a huge blow for the BBC, who consider her to be one of its top TV stars.
It comes after a series of bad news for the broadcaster, which is in hot water once again as they plan to air a controversial David Walliams Would I Lie to You episode following the news he has been dropped by his publishers over allegations of inappropriate behaviour. Walliams strongly denies all allegations against him.
The episode sparked backlash after it was reported Walliams had given two Nazi salutes during the recording, leaving the audience shocked.
At the time, the BBC apologised over the incident and the scene was deleted from the episode.
One of their biggest TV shows, Celebrity MasterChef, also lost nearly a third of its audience in a year and struggled to top 1.3million viewers, with its most recent series.
The first episode of the current run, broadcast on November 17, failed to even make Barb's Top 50 programmes of the week.
