Ishan Kishan gets captaincy, will take command of Jharkhand in Vijay Hazare Trophy, 20-member squad announced

Indian team’s wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan is getting gifts one after the other. Recently, under his captaincy, Jharkhand team won the title of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After which he was also included in Team India for T20 World Cup 2026. Now Ishan Kishan has got another big responsibility. He has been included in the Jharkhand team for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy and has also been given the command of the team. The upcoming season of Vijay Hazare Trophy is going to start from 24th December.

Let us tell you that Ishaan Kishan is in great form. He was the highest run-scorer in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. He scored 517 runs in 10 matches in the tournament. He also scored 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the final match against Haryana, Ishaan played a strong inning of 101 runs and played an important role in helping the team win the title.

Jharkhand’s first match against Karnataka

Jharkhand has been placed in the elite group and the team will play its first match against Karnataka in Ahmedabad. While the command of the team is in the hands of Ishaan, Kumar Kushagra has been given the responsibility of vice-captain. Apart from Kishan, Kumar Kushagra, Anukul Roy, Robin Minz, Abhinav Sharan and Virat Singh have also been included in the Jharkhand team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament.
