Duplicate copy of Aadhaar card: The Aadhaar card provides a digital identity to Indians. You use it for identification purposes with your bank account, all government services, and other documents. If your Aadhaar card is lost or damaged, you don't need to worry. You can get a duplicate Aadhaar card through several methods.

Get it online

The first method is online. First, go to the official UIDAI website. Then, you need to find the Aadhaar Services section. In the next step, you need to find the "Retrieve lost UID/EID" option. After clicking on it, you will reach the section to request a duplicate copy of your Aadhaar card. Choose the information you have available, either UID or EID. After filling in all the required information, click on the "Send OTP" option. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number. Then, fill in the Captcha code and submit. You will receive your duplicate Aadhaar card on your registered mobile number or email.

Call 1947

Call the UIDAI helpline number 1947 and talk to an executive. Provide your demographic information. After the details match, the executive will share your EID with you. After this, call 1947 again and select the "Request Status" option using the IVRS system. Provide your EID, DOB, and PINCODE. After the details match, you will be told your Aadhaar number. This service is free of charge.

Visit an Aadhaar Center

This service may charge you a nominal fee of Rs. 30 or more. Visit an Aadhaar center and provide your information. Your biometric identity will be verified through fingerprint or iris scan, and after a match, you will be given a printout of your e-Aadhaar card. Here are a few ways you can easily obtain your Aadhaar card. Try to take a picture of your Aadhaar card after you receive it. This way, you can get a printout whenever and wherever you need it. This will also significantly reduce the chances of losing your Aadhaar card. Avoid carrying your original documents with you everywhere.
