Kiara Advani Weighs In On 8-Hour Shift Debate Started By Deepika Padukone: “Burnout Helps No One”

Kiara Advani embraced motherhood in July this year and welcomed her first baby, a girl, with Sidharth Malhotra. They’ve named her Saraayah and took to social media to announce the same. On the work front, she’s gearing up for Toxic, co-starring Yash, which is slated for a March 2026 release.

In a recent interview, Kiara weighed in on the eight-hour shift debate in Bollywood that became a topic of discussion post Deepika Padukone’s exit from Spirit as well as Kalki 2, due to her demands.

In an interview with Vogue India, Kiara spoke about reading scripts at the moment, including a biopic, which did excite her. In addition, she mentioned how she simply picks scripts based on the story’s soul, and it isn’t about the genre anymore.

In addition, she also highlighted how she has a sense of clarity now and drive, but she ensures to prioritise mental health. As such, she also touched upon the subject of the eight-hour shift debate and said, “Burnout helps no one in any industry." She also said that she ensures she follows three words (with staff at home and crew at work) – dignity, balance and respect.
