Nihao China Vs UPI One World: Recently China “Nihao China” has launched a new all-in-one mobile app called “UPI One World” It is being done through service. In such a situation, it is natural to raise the question that what is Nihao China, what is its purpose and does it really provide the same facilities as India’s UPI One World? Both the platforms have been introduced to ease the experience of foreign travellers, but their mode of functioning and scope are quite different from each other.
“Nihao China” is being touted as an all-in-one app designed for foreign travelers and expatriates visiting China. Many global apps like Google, Uber do not work in China, due to which passengers face problems to internet, transport and payment. This app has been launched to overcome these problems.
In this app, facilities like digital payment, transport information, maps, language translation and travel guide are available on a single platform. Users can make payments with QR codes, get bus-metro information and avail local services without language barriers. Apart from this, information to Visa, eSIM, tax refund and tourist facilities is also available in the app. Overall, this app makes traveling and staying in China much simpler and convenient.
India’s “UPI One World” The service is being considered an important step towards taking UPI to the global level. This facility has been launched especially for foreign travelers visiting India, so that they can easily make UPI payments in India through their international bank accounts and cards.
Under this service, foreign travelers get a temporary UPI ID, through which they can pay for hotels, shops, taxis and other services. This eliminates the need to exchange foreign currency to a great extent and makes India more tourist-friendly for foreign tourists.
Although both the initiatives have been launched keeping foreign travelers in mind, there are clear differences between them.
After the launch of Nihao China, the demand for a similar all-in-one tourist app has increased on social media in India also. People say that India should not just limit itself to payment but should also provide facilities to transport, maps and guides for foreign travelers on a single platform.
