India’s first tele-robotic surgery program launched by Reliance Foundation Hospital

mumbai23 December 2025: India’s first tele-robotic surgery program Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital (HNRFH) Dhirubhai Ambani A tele-robotic surgery program has been started in collaboration with Department of Occupational Health (DAOH) and Community Medical Centre, Jamnagar. Through this program, HNRFH’s expert surgeons will perform and provide guidance in remotely robotic-assisted surgeries at partner healthcare centers across the country. Under this service, patients in small towns and geographically remote areas will be able to get direct services.

What is tele-robotic surgery and who will it benefit?

The objective of the tele-robotic surgery program is to provide advanced surgical treatment to patients living in geographically remote areas. Such patients will not have to travel to big cities and will still be able to get timely guidance and treatment from experts. Under this facility, the first tele-robotic surgery has been successfully performed at Community Medical Centre, Jamnagar, Gujarat under the leadership of the hospital’s Director of Urology-Oncology, according to the list released by Reliance Foundation Hospital.

Speaking at the launch was Group CEO – Healthcare Initiatives and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Tarang Gyan Chandani said: “Advanced healthcare should not be limited by geographical boundaries.
