Dhurandhar’s outstanding box office performance is considered the reason behind Ranveer’s rumored departure from Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s highly anticipated reboot. A report by Pinkvilla revealed that it is more about strategic planning than a sudden falling out. Insiders indicate that after Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh reevaluated the kinds of projects he wanted to work on in the near future. He is said to want to separate his screen persona from one of consecutive gangster films by not choosing another role similar to that of a Dhurandhar-type character.
One of the primary signs of this change is Ranveer Singh’s rejuvenated concentration only on Pralay, a forthcoming venture by Applause Entertainment, directed by Jai Mehta. The movie, as per reports, is a zombie survival story at its core, and it deals with a man’s fight for his family in the most desperate of situations. The sources reveal that Ranveer has been so proactive in changing his schedule that now he does not have a single day free.
The shooting of the movie is to start as soon as possible. Insiders from the industry also note that presently Ranveer Singh is to focus only on the collaborations with the director of the distinguished storytelling and epic films like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee. The reason behind it, they say, is to experiment with different genres and be different in terms of style instead of staying in one particular cinematic space.
On the personal front, Ranveer Singh was recently seen at the airport flying out with his wife, Deepika Padukone, post Dhurandhar release.
