Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has had a pretty tough year so far, and it seems like he could be in for a dull Christmas too. While he has been shunned from Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham this year, the former prince may have hoped that he would at least have his two daughters for company on December 25 instead.

However, it isn't looking likely that this will be the case. This is because while it is not yet known what Princess Eugenie is doing on Thursday, it has already been widely reported that Princess Beatrice won't be seeing her father for the big day.

Instead, it has been reported that the 37-year-old and her family have jetted off overseas for a ski holiday with friends.

It is believed that this is despite Beatrice having had the option of either being with her father for Christmas, or spending the day with the Royal Family at Sandringham.

A friend of the princess told The Sun: "Beatrice doesn't want to cause any embarrassment and was torn between loyalty to the King and her parents. That is why with Eugenie they went to Buckingham Palace for the pre-Christmas family lunch.

"She appreciates the way that the King and William have looked after her during everything that has been happening with Andy and Sarah. She didn't want it to look like they were snubbing anyone so it was easier to go off with friends."

But do you think she made the right choice, or should Beatrice see her father on Christmas Day? Vote below or here.

It is still unknown what Eugenie and her family are doing on Christmas Day, with reports suggesting they have been invited to Sandringham.

However, it is not known whether the princess will have accepted the King's offer.

Other royals are set to be with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Sandringham, including Prince William, Princess Catherine, and their three children.
