Bihar vs Arunachal Pradesh: Bihar team has made a strong start in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. First the bat of vice-captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi rained and I thought what could be faster than this? But, the very next moment Bihar captain Saqibul Ghani said- I am here. Captain Saheb of Bihar, while explaining what a commander is and how he is, broke the Indian record of scoring the fastest century in List A cricket. In the same match in which Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a century in 36 balls against Arunachal Pradesh, Saqibul Ghani scored a century in just 32 balls and became the fastest Indian in the list to do so.
The record of fastest century in List A cricket was earlier in the name of Anmolpreet Singh of Punjab. He scored a century in 35 balls. But, Saqibul Ghani scored a century in only 32 balls. However, after some time it seemed that Ishan Kishan would break the record of Saqibul Ghani also. But Jharkhand captain missed 1 ball. He completed his hundred in 33 balls. In this way, the record of the Indian scoring the fastest century in List A remained in the name of Saqibul Ghani.
Bihar captain Saqibul Ghani's total innings against Arunachal Pradesh was 40 balls, in which he scored 128 runs, hitting 12 fours and 10 sixes. Earlier, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out after scoring 190 runs in 84 balls. When the captain and vice-captain fired with their bats, the Bihar team also created a record. They became the team that scored the highest total in the history of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
On the basis of centuries from the captain and vice-captain, Bihar team scored 574 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs, which is the highest total of any team in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Even before this, the record of highest runs scored was made against Arunachal Pradesh only. Tamil Nadu had scored 506 runs for 2 wickets in 50 overs against Arunachal Pradesh in the year 2022.
