This recruitment will be done under OCES and DGFS training scheme in India. Qualification and age limit

For BARC Recruitment 2026, the candidate must have a BE/BTech, BSc (Engineering), MSc or Integrated MSc degree with at least 60 percent marks. Final year students can also apply, provided they complete the degree by the stipulated time. The maximum age limit has been kept at 26 years, while OBC category will get 3 years relaxation and SC/ST will get 5 years relaxation.

Salary and training

During the training period, the candidate will get a monthly stipend of Rs 74,000. After completion of training, if appointed to the post of Scientific Officer, the total salary along with allowances can be around Rs 1.30 lakh per month.

Candidates will be selected through online examination or shortlisting based on GATE score followed by interview and medical examination. Under the OCES scheme, one year training is given, while under the DGFS scheme, some candidates get the opportunity and financial assistance to do M.Tech.

The application fee for male candidates belonging to General, OBC and EWS categories is Rs 500, while female, SC/ST and PwBD candidates will not be charged.
